My goodness I did not know I was missing - I've never read any of Forman's books but have always heard good things. And I wasn't avoiding them for any reason other than my book shelves are jammed and my TBR has over 3,000 books on it. But my goodness I want to shove all of those to the side and read everything now, especially this one! The emotions described in the first 100 pages of this book are palpable. I'm not sure if I've ever been this invested in three characters right off the bat, but I am hooked and need to know how their story continues! I don't know if I have the words to explain how this book made me feel (Forman would for sure!) but I recognized the struggles and I think people will be able to identify with them no matter how old they are. I recognized the arguments where both sides are right but no choice is a good one. If you've ever felt ignored, unloved, or left behind (and who hasn't really?) you might find some healing in this book.
