Thank you NetGalley for my review copy.

My 💭:

First off this cover is everything and the reason why I wanted to read the book. Then the story is centered around a Black ballerina, Laure and this was a solid debut by Jamison Shea. I did have issues with the pacing at times, but overall I enjoyed the story. I look forward to the next book in the series as well. I did alternate this book with the audiobook and the narrator did such a good job. The creatures voice was scary and gave me chills while I listed. The narrator did a great job bringing this story to life and I hope they narrating the next book in the series as well.

What would you do to achieve your goals??

“What do you crave?”

“And what would you give for power?”

“Then three days of the power you seek, but the thread that binds it is your will to dance. Let’s see how voracious your appetite is, mortal girl.”

These were some serious questions and I'm not sure what I would have said if I was in Laure's position.
