I wasn't sure what to expect when I delved into this book. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! It was well written and different in that it really examined the realities of a tragedy like this. The book starts off with Margaret "Maggie" and her fiance Chip taking an impromptu flight only to find themselves blown off course, survivors of a plane crash. While Chip escapes unscathed, Maggie is not as lucky and must face irreparable physical damage. I found myself rooting for Maggie and getting more and more invested as I read on. The author brought the right amount of depth into her character, while still keeping it a light read. I wouldn't call it a gripping novel but towards the end I just wouldn't put it down! There was definitely cliched predictability but I found myself looking forward to it instead of rolling my eyes at it. The only thing I'd say, and this is quite superficial, is that I hated the cover- it in no way reflected the book or vibe of the book. Had I seen it on a bookshelf I probably would not have picked it up but as it turns out I'm really glad that I did!
