Lovely story that balances humor and hope with life-altering tragedy and family drama. I really enjoyed how much we saw Margaret's emotional journey evolve through her recovery and healing process, both in the hospital and after as she learns what it means to live for yourself. It delves into some of the medical complexities of her injury as well as insurance-approved vs other treatments without being too detailed, but it inspires confidence in the author's level of research. The family dynamics were far more multi-faceted than I anticipated. This isn't just a story about Margaret's healing, but an entire family pulling their skeletons out of the closet and having to decide whether or not they can still even be a family.
