“When you don’t know what to do for yourself, do something for somebody else.”
If you liked Things You Save in a Fire or Evvie Drake Starts Over, you will absolutely love this one. Margaret is over the moon when her soon-to-be pilot boyfriend proposes to her mid-flight on Valentine’s Day. It’s the best day of her life. And then it swiftly becomes the worst day of her life when her new fiancé crashes the plane, leaving Margaret severely burned and paralyzed. Margaret has to learn how to live her life with this new set of challenges as her relationship falls apart in the aftermath. This was a story of resilience and moving forward, with a lovely (and not cringey or steamy) side of accidental love. Even though much of the plot IS predictable, I found myself turning pages to find out how Margaret’s condition would turn out in the end. This was another book that definitely made me reflect on my own blessings and remember to have gratitude, and I really feel like the story has a little something for everyone!
