How to Walk Away

“You get one life, and it only goes forward. And there really are all kinds of happy endings.”

There are a lot of things we can walk away from: places, people, relationship, but we can never walk away from ourselves.

On Valentine’s Day, Margaret “Maggie” Jacobsen had it all. A great job, a fiancé she loved, and a future that promised a happy ending.

Until a plane crash took it all away.

When Maggie wakes up at the hospital, nothing is the same. She struggles to: cope with her new reality, deal with her drifting fiancé, and return things back to normal. However, after coming up against various struggles, Maggie soon realizes that while she can’t go back to the life she had, by letting in pain, and unexpected love, she might find the place she was meant to be.

When you have it all, how can you deal when you lose everything?
Like Jojo Moyes, Katherine Center is able to weave a very realistic story based on loss and pain and turn all the character’s struggles into something beautiful and heartwarming. Center writes with a great degree of charm and pure emotion that captures readers from the very start. How to Walk Away appeals to the romantic within and it holds a love story, in its truest form, that you won’t want to walk away from.

This was my first Katherine Center book, but it certainly won’t be my last!
