The author did a great job researching a neurological back injury. Not all of it was accurate but it had to be altered to tell a story. The amount of work to absorb medical information was well done. I enjoyed the story overall and mostly the part of what happens when a finance, daughter, and sister gets injured and how the rest of the family is connected to all of this. It is worth the time if you like a story about people who aren't perfect and how life really happens for many. I think the author deservies credit for trying to tell a realistic part of medicine. As a retired neurology nurse this is a tough sell as the book says each patient is different but the consultation with medical personnel paid off. I love the interaction with her sister and in the end, family ties win!
