This was the perfect Halloween read. Not only did it have the spooky, slasher-y vibes, it is also set during Halloween. The main character, Alice was very relatable, she drew the reader in and made them care about what was going to happen to her. I loved her whole gang of friends and how they were there for. However, in true slasher fashion, most do not make it to the end. It was fast-paced and kept me guessing as to who the killer was, I had some suspicision of who it was, but I also thought it was another person some of the time. Also, fair warning (without any spoilers, the ending in unexpected). Fans of classic slasher flicks, like Scream and Halloween, will definitely enjoy this one. If you liked There's Someone in Your House or The Darkest Part of the Forest by Stephanie Perkins, I think you will also like this one. As far as the gore level, I would rate it at about a five - there is some but it's not overwhelming and is easily skimmable if you aren't the biggest fan of the gore.
