Story is about a teen witch trying to earn a scholarship for college. Shay joins the high school musical because she knows that the drama teacher is also head of the scholarship program. Well there is lots of external drama: romance, friendship some aggressive behaviors. All part of growing up, even for a witch. Enjoyable story that is also racially diverse.

Mr. B has shown an inappropriate amount of interest, making weird comments even for a teacher. He continually wants private time with Shay to 'practice'.
The stress of applying and getting recommendations for the scholarship are intense for Shay, and gushy melty feelings for Ana are freaking her out. "Spending time with Ana is torturous. That mushy feeling I got from thinking about her before has turned into something jagged and sad".
