I wanted to like this book, seriously, I really did. The cover was absolutely adorable. I loved the premise of the book and was really excited to see how the story progressed. However, the cons seriously outweighed the pros on this one and it left me skimming through chapters, not caring about characters or the story, and ready to donate the book. Here’s some pros and cons:

Cons:
A plot that didn’t make a lot of sense
Italian words never explained or even italicized (also, the author isn’t from Italy so???)
A main character that was annoying
A set of antagonists that felt neither important nor bad. Seriously, they just seemed like normal people but underground
The defining moment of this book for me was when I found myself skimming the last 100+ pages. By the end, I didn’t even care what happened. Oh well.
