This book was a really encouraging read for young girls, or boys, too! I loved the storyline of a little girl who felt called to a different path than the one her family had planned for her. One that her family had been a part of for generations. Giada was able to provide her worthiness and show that her calling was a gift and not a mere want of hers. I loved the beautiful imagery provided by the author. I will admit it was difficult to read through the Spanish-English mixture of words at times, but I was still able to imagine what the author was describing. As a veterinarian myself, I was intrigued by the magical aspect this book brought to my career field. This is a great coming of age story about a young girl forging her own life path. The ending left room for a sequel and I will surely be reading the next novel. I also plan to share this one with children I know!
