I was drawn to this book by the cute cover and title. The synopsis sounded really cute as well. I liked the Italian setting although aside form the characters using Italian language, this book didn't really give me any sense that it took place in Italy. I liked the sibling relationship and her relationship with her best friend. I loved the magical veterinarian aspect and all the different creatures included within the story. I think anyone who loves animals will enjoy that element. Giada was a tad too bratty and, like her brother mentioned, overdramatic. There was this over emphasis on her body that I didn't like. I get it, the story wants to portray a positive body message to the kids but I never enjoy when books overly focus on any body type. It's irrelevant to the story. I also thought it odd that the pandemic was mentioned in a fantasy story. It was there in context to her brother's healing people but really, it's fantasy just make some other illness instead of throwing in a real life one. Overall it was a cute, quick story but nothing super wow. Three stars.
