I don't know why but I saw this cover and immediately was reminded of this series called Tuesdays at the Castle which I loved as a kid. I think it involved gryphons too. I thought the cover was really cute so I was really excited for this middle grade book. I often really enjoy them as a nice break from adult books. However I just didn't love this one. I haven't read anything by this author before. This is a middle grade fantasy following a thirteen year old named Giada. She's torn between her families expectations of becoming a human healer versus her own dreams of being an animal healer. There's a lot that conflicts in this story right from the get go. She mentions Apollo and then on the same page mentions Diana goddess of wild animals. Do you mean her greek counterpart Artemis? Why are there both roman and greek gods mentioned? It's really confusing but might appeal to Percy Jackson fans.
