Meg Cannistra's How to Heal a Gryphon is a story in which Love Sugar Magic meets Fablehaven. It follows an Italian girl who is torn between her family's desire to follow tradition and her passion for magically healing animals. However, when her brother is taken, her powers suddenly appear to be all that can save him. This sounds like a wonderful Middle Grade read that will be enjoyed by the whole family.
