4.5 stars! Thank you to Bookish for having this book available for advanced readers.

How it feels to float is a beautifully-written story of a young LGBT girl that is in search for her identity while dealing with psychological problems like depression. The book also talks about grief and loss, family, suicide, PTSD and mental illnesses in young adolescents.

The author managed to make this story deep, full of psychological insights, but at the same time easy to read and to follow. Your emotions will go all over the place reading this book - sometimes it will make you angry, sometimes sad, sometimes happy. The story is really believable but at the same time not easy to predict.

Amazing debut for this author! For sure she has a long and successful career in front of her!
