Not my kind of book
I thought I'd unchecked the box to win this book, as it didn't sound like something I'd enjoy ... and I was correct. However, I somehow won a copy, so I'll go ahead and do a review.
For a debut, it was well written. There are numerous trigger warnings, including: mental illness, including depression, PTSD, and suicidal thoughts. LGBT issues are also in this book.
Biz has a lot going on, in addition to the normal teenage drama and angst. She came across as realistic for her age. She deals with a variety of struggles that will likely be relatable for many readers. In general, the characters are distinct, and even the secondary characters are well integrated. The cover is a nice fit for the story.
Some readers may really enjoy this book, but it just wasn't for me.
