This is a book that all young people should read. Even those not battling mental illness will benefit from understanding what their peers (or family members, or teachers, or neighbors or co-workers) may be dealing with. Empathy and kindness are common themes we are trying to help kids learn in middle and high school. This is a good story to help get those conversations started.
I liked the style of writing, it really sounded like an awkward teenager and made me feel like I had a front row seat in Biz's head. I appreciate the author's ability to deal with these heavy topics tactfully, yet still honest and raw. It is a sad and moving story but one that is honest and addresses issues that all kids face but not too many people are willing to talk about openly.
