Arwin Ahmadi’s ‘How It All Blew Up’ has been such a fun and at the same time important book. I couldn’t believe I won a copy from ReadersFirst (big thanks!). When it finally arrived this week, I devoured the book in one seating. I’m not kidding. Amir is such a relatable character – even if I come from completely different country and culture – and equally honest and raw one. He makes mistakes, he panics, he jumps into conclusions and overreacts (not the issue which is really important and heavy but rather the way he behaves – jumping on the plane hoping to avoid his problems). While there have been a few moments where the story didn’t feel completely believable, on the whole I really loved Arwin Ahmadi’s book. It’s such an authentic account, and the book makes you laugh and cry, often at the same time.
