Thank you to BookishFirst and Penguin Teen for providing a print copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was AWESOME! I read it within twenty-four hours and it did not disappoint.

Amir is getting ready to graduate high school when a classmate threatens to expose his truth to his Muslim family. Rather than face the blackmail, Amir runs away to Rome and tries to vanish without a trace. I absolutely loved reading Amir’s adventures in Rome. He discovered so much about himself, and even some things about the family he thought he knew so well. Chapters alternate between the past (Amir’s time in Rome) and the present (after he is pulled off the airplane home and placed in an interrogation room). This was so well done. I can’t wait for my next Ahmadi read!
