I remember seeing some controversy surrounding a reviewer saying this book shouldn't be marketed as a Muslim book because there's not enough on the religion included. Naturally I sided with the author because helloooo, #ownvoices. After reading this first impression, I feel even more strongly that this is a book that should be read. I liked the writing, found the main character sympathetic, and think it's a story that needs to be told.
