I have been listening to How I Built This since it first started, though truthfully I stopped listening as regularly as I used to since I found a lot of the stories were getting repetitive. While some of the founder's stories are really interesting, they all seem to follow the same beats which I got a bit tired of. Though I usually ended the episode learning something new about the brand. Because of this, I was hesitant to read Guy's book as I was afraid it would be just like the podcast. But Guy did a good job separating the two and making complementary products.
After what I have read, I believe this would be a great gift for high school and college grads as well as people who are looking to start a business but don't know where to start. I did learn some things from reading this book and I think it could make a great gift for the holidays, especially during COVID when people are inside thinking through their dreams and business ideas. Guy has a great personality that makes you feel like he is your friend giving you advice, which is also always welcome during this time.
