When I say this took my breath away I mean it literally and figuratively, within the first few pages we see a form of magic that is brilliant and horrofic at the same time, and get a feel for what this brilliant book is going to be about.
I will admit I was drawn in as soon as I saw secret society mentioned in one of the blurbs, but this book is so much more than that.
