First off, that cover is absolutely beautiful. That alone made me want to read this book, and let me tell you, I'm so glad that I did. This book much darker than I was anticipating. I was expecting a touch of darkness, and got equal parts macabre and beautiful. I loved it.
Now, it's hard to write a detailed review without giving away the plot and slipping spoilers, but I will give it a go.
The Hollow sisters, Grey, Vivi, and Iris are strange. They have white hair and black eyes. They have...powers. They have a presence. They have something about them...
While Grey has moved out and become a famous super model and fashion designer, and Vivi has a successful band, Iris is the baby of the family, and is attending high school. Trying to be a bit Al teenager while she is the last Hollow sister in town, hoping people forget. People will never forget that 3 little girls went missing right before their mothers eyes, and suddenly came back, changed, a year later. While the story unfolds, there are layers of magical realism, dark, macabre takes, beautiful writing, and wildly original book overall.
