This book was a very interesting mix of what felt like horror, fantasy, and mystery. It was a very easy read and was very engaging. It was essentially a fairy tale for adults, specifically young adults. The characters worked well together and kept the story interesting. The author took you along on the Hollow sisters' journey to figure out exactly what they were and what happened that made them the way they were. The imagery in this book is top-notch and the setting was easy to imagine.
My only complaints are that at times it felt gorier than I liked and I felt as though it was dragged out too long during certain parts. Regardless, this book was a good read.
I would recommend this book to fantasy fans specifically. Similar to what other readers have said, I was surprised at how gory it could be at times, but it was not enough for me to put the book down.
