Iris Hollow and her two older sisters mysteriously disappeared from a suburban neighborhood in Scotland. Just as mysteriously they returned a month later but retain no memory of where they were or what happened to them.
The author has a wonderful way of grabbing the attention of the reader, drawing them deeper and deeper into the story and never letting go. Sutherlands words are rich, descriptive and at times I could really feel and smell the surroundings of the magical world she created. I almost finished this book in one sitting (yes, it was that good) but decided to slow down near the end and really savor the originality of this story.
Horror readers, fantasy lovers, young adults and grownups should really enjoys this one-of-a-kind tale!
