Exactly the creepy gothic tale I needed
What a deliciously creepy story! Let me tell you - I love all things dark, haunting and that creeps under your skin, deep down into the dark crevices of your brain, and makes your skin crawl. That's exactly what this book did in a quick span.
The book is about three sisters Hollow. They disappeared one night, only to reappear a month later. Everyone was so happy, excited, and kept telling their parents they are lucky with the outcome. Only, these three sisters appear to be different. They have changed just a tiny bit, and the weird circumstances of their disappearance and reappearance only follow them through their life. Now, 10 years later, the oldest of the sisters disappears again. The younger ones go on a hunt for Grey, and in turn find out what happened to them years ago.
This story was a blend of nightmares and fairytales. You couldn't tell if what was happening was only imagination, something sinister, something magical, or maybe it was all blended together into one nice package. I'm here for delightfully detailed story telling, the atmospheric world building and of course the dark fairytale like story.
