The first thing that attracts my attention about this book is the cover. The girl is cut in half by this string of flowers, a symbol of what's to come. This book opens sharp and thrilling, and Sutherland doesn't drop the fast pacing until you turn the last page and set the book back on the shelf.

One of the best things about this book is the sisterhood Sutherland creates between Iris and her two sisters. They are each distinctly different and have recognizably different personalities. There were no shortcuts taken to create duplicate characters in slightly different forms. Grey is cruel and manipulative. She's not afraid to do what it takes to get what she wants, and she's been keeping secrets for years. Vivi is a free spirit, wild and rebellious. And Iris is quiet and introspective, the steady and more predictable sister though certainly not the least lovable.

House of Hollow is a stunning mystery written with such eloquent prose and such thrilling mysteries you won't put it down!
