I have absolutely no idea what is going on with the Hollow sisters after this excerpt, whether this is a dark contemporary or foreshadowing to a supernatural aspect, but I am curious to find out. Are they demigods or ghosts? Is this a Rapunzel retelling? Is the constant mention of animal skulls and antlers/horns reminiscent to one of those seasons of Riverdale where they were too vague to ever decide if the plot was supernatural or just eerie? I don't have high hopes, but I do have just enough to want to continue reading.
