Jani and her sister, Zosa, live a difficult life; they have very little that they can take pleasure from. When Hotel Magnifique comes to town, hiring people to work at the hotel, the sisters decide to interview for positions, Zosa as a singer and Jani as a member of the staff. Zosa is thrilled to learn that she is to be taken on as an entertainer, and jumps at the chance to sign a contract, and Jani is prepared to do whatever it takes to stay with her sister. Jani soon discovers, however, that things are not as wonderful as they seem, and that there are many secrets to be found within the walls of the hotel. With Bel at her side, Jani is determined to uncover the hotel’s secrets and save her sister from its hidden dangers.

Hotel Magnifique is such a great novel. The story is original and captivating, making this novel a real page-turner that many people can take pleasure in reading. I enjoyed the characters, especially Jani. She is such a tough, determined and loyal individual and she drew me easily into her story. Taylor’s descriptions and word choices are extremely effective at painting a picture of Hotel Magnifique, the places it travels to, and the people inhabiting it. With magic, love, family, friendship and mystery, this novel has it all.

I highly recommend Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor, out now, to any and all readers. Thank you to BookishFirst and Razorbill for gifting me a copy of Hotel Magnifique, given in exchange for an honest review; all opinions are my own.
