hotel magnifique (releasing april 5, 2022) is a fantasy about a girl who takes on a job at a travelling magical hotel to save her sister. there, she uncovers an enchanting world of magic as well as a dark conspiracy behind the hotel's existence. hotel magnifique was a very fun and interesting fantasy read, and i genuinely felt surprised in the best way while reading through the twists and reveals in this book.

i think my favourite thing about this by far in this book has to be the magical setting of the hotel. it's whimsical and never-boring, like you never know what will be behind the next door you open. it's genuinely one of the most unique fantasy settings that i've read, and i think the book did a really good job at exploring many facets of the hotel. also the magic system with the artifacts was really well developed :)

i also liked the main characters, especially the sisters jani and zosa and their relationship, though i wish that i could have read more of zosa. also i think the book really made all of the characters very interesting even those that were not present that long page wise, like céleste. one thing i didn't like that much though was the main romance. i just didn't feel very invested and that aspect of the book was a bitunderdeveloped. also something i really appreciated in this book was the queernormative world, and that the love interest bel was bi :)

overall, i really enjoyed reading hotel magnifique and would really recommend it to anyone looking to pick up a unique new fantasy read :)
