This book had me gripped from the start. The writing was just the right amount of informative and stylistic so that I felt immersed in the story line but not lost in it. I immediately was drawn to Jani, she is feisty and determined and a great female protagonist to the story. I was also immediately drawn to Bel, the mysterious nature of who he was had me guessing and loving and hating him all at the same time. The characters were all well developed which helped you understand the motivation behind why they would do something even if the action is not one that you would have performed.
As I read this book I was unable to put it down and actually ended up finishing it in one setting. It quickly has risen to be one of my favorite reads of the year. If you like a mystery adventure with a fantastical spin this is the book for you. I promise you won't regret picking this one up.
