I'm a sucker for a good third person prologue and Hotel Manifique's is magnificent. I was already hooked after the prologue, but the promise a magical, mysterious hotel, an ageless magician, two orphaned sisters just trying to make it in the world and a surly servant boy seem like the beginnings of an exquisite story.
