I really enjoyed this book. I didn't know anything about the author or his band, so I wasn't a fan coming into the book. However, this book is very interesting and tells the story of his journey from cult to dealing. I really don't know how a parent of small children can let their child live in a "school" where they are cared for en masse without parents. As a child of young children, I can't imagine doing that. I also wonder about the serious attachment issues that can stem from abandoning a child at so young of an age. Luckily for this author, he had someone step in and fulfill a mothery type role for him to keep continuity in cared during his time in this school. I would imagine that it makes relationships extremely hard to maintain. Overall, there could have been more editing and the book could have been somewhat shorter. However, it is still worth the read.
