Memorable Memoir
As memoirs are my absolute favorite genre, I was super stoked to receive an Advanced Reader Copy of "Hollywood Park." While I knew little-to-nothing in terms of Mikel Jollett's life, or of his band The Airborne Toxic Event, I knew this memoir would be a hit for me.
Reading this memoir was like reading a work of fiction that simply sucks a reader in. Only.....this story could not possibly be made up. It was wild and unbelievable in the sense that the reader won't soon forget the life that Mikel led.
As I said, I am a big fan of memoirs like Jollett's and would highly recommend this book to fans of "Educated" by Tara Westover, and "The Glass Castle" Jeannette Walls. While it is truly a heartbreaking story, much like the two I mentioned here, it is also a story of the fiercest kind of love.
