“We were never young. We were just to afraid of ourselves. No one told us who we were or what we where or where all our parents went. They would arrive like ghosts, visiting us for a morning, an afternoon. They would sit with us or walk around the grounds, to laugh or cry or toss us into the air while we screamed. Then they disappear again, for weeks, for months, for years, leaving us alone with our memories and dreams, our questions and confusion.”
Have you ever read a book with almost no information about it and then just loved it?
I saw several times this book on Instagram and when my Librofm ALC list came I selected this one.
This story captured me completely, I started listening and just couldn’t stop; it was both moving and devastating, I was just fascinated by it.
It was so well written and narrated, the music through it was perfect, it was raw, powerful and beautiful.
Thank you Mikel Jollett for sharing your story with us.
Thank you Librofm, Macmillan Audio and Celadon Books for giving me a copy of this ALC in exchange for an honest review.
