I knew nothing of Mikel Jollett before reading this. And I only really knew one song of Airborne Toxic Event, the same one I’m sure everyone knows. I have found that even by not knowing someone or being a huge fan of their band, I really enjoyed reading this. I find other people’s stories so interesting and Mikel had really gone through a lot. I found that I could really relate to Mikel when it came to his mom and her narcissistic behavior. Yes, he's a famous musician, but he really has gone through a lot that people can relate to. I enjoyed reading how much work he has put in to make sure he changes history and doesn't let it continue down it's terrible path. He used everything in his past and realized what it was and how it affected him and used it to heal. It's sad that his mom hasn't accepted any blame but Mikel seems to be in a very good place now as does his brother. It was a very good read.
