I love a good memoir and biography. This one definitely peaked my interest. I loved that instead of reading the first impression from chapter one, the author chose to reveal the first impression from Chapter 15.
Mikel Jollette pulls you into his life in a very unique way. In the blurb before the story unfolds, he talks about a cult he was raised in and then escaping and the difficulties he had adapting along with his mother and brother.
I am interested in seeing how these relationships develop and make Mikel the person he is today.
When reading the chapter about his brother and the bike, my heart strings were tugged.
This book definitely is going to an emotional roller coaster of a read but one that I want to take.
His writing style and story telling/narrating is one that I enjoy and can see myself getting lost in.
I want to know this author's story and how he prevailed through harsh and unnatural circumstances of being raised.
