The cover of HOLLY HORROR is creepy in an off-putting way such that I'd be unlikely to pick up this book in a store based solely on that. The sample First Impression is well written, but I'm not feeling like this is the best fit for me. It's not drawing me in to feel super invested in the story. I think that fans of YA horror/thriller may enjoy this book more. This is one that I definitely would not purchase but might borrow from the library, though it wouldn't be at the top of my list. I did find the author's dedication to be sweet and I liked the quote by Poe included at the beginning which seems to set the stage for the feel of the book.
