I love haunted house stories, and I'm obsessed with the cover of this book; the illustrator used the most perfect mix of colors, and the composition of the figure and moon is so spooky and lovely. So I was really hoping I'd love the writing in this book, but I thought it was just okay, which is disappointing. Don't really care about the characters much so far. Also drinking from a stranger's glass? What. The doll and mirror reflection was successfully pretty creepy though.
