I like the idea, but not sure about it so far

So I really like the idea behind this story. I'm excited to see where it goes. However the writing was a little slow for me at first. A lot of comparisons and maybe over-descriptive sections. I wonder at a few of the comparisons and whether the age group this is for will get them or not. But I do think it could be a good story!
