Reconstruction era historical fiction
Hidden Cargo focuses on the immediate aftermath of the Civil War south and focuses on Everett Townsend, a Union Navy officer working in the South with a complicated family connection to slavery. The first impression starts with a lot of action setting the stage for the story to unfold. There's a lot of vivid imagery as well as some interesting characters, whom we might get to know better, which all point to a book with a lot of potential. I think this story will lend an interesting perspective to historical fiction about the Civil War era - looking forward to read further!
