The long-awaited next installment of the Clare Fergusson/Russ Van Alstyne Series by Julia Spencer-Fleming did not disappoint.
I have been a loyal fan of Julia Spencer-Fleming’s work for years. It was great to get re-aquainted with these characters. In Hid From Our Eyes, we learn about what seems like a ritualistic murder that seems strikingly familiar to Russ. Turns out, he was a suspect in a very similar murder years earlier that was never solved. The path to solving this crime – and the cold case – takes several twists and turns.
Underlying this plot, Russ and Clare are dealing with the possible elimination of the Miller’s Kill police department as well as the ups and downs of parenting a new baby.
I couldn’t put this book down – the teaser at the end leaves readers definitely wanting more. I hope we don’t have to wait seven years to get it!
