great book in a series
So apparently this is the ninth installment of the Clare Fergusson/Russ Van Alstyne Mystery series.... however I've never read any books in the series. I wasn't sure if I would be able to follow the series appropriately based on that. Honestly, I was able to follow the story and the characters quite easily.. Sure I was missing out on their past stories in the last eight books, but nonetheless, I enjoyed this book.
Main character Clare is the pastor of St. Ablan's Church... While other main character Russ is the police chief. They also just welcomed a new baby it appears.
A 911 call comes in with the death of a young woman with the same MO of a death that Russ was accused of back in the 70s. Russ is feeling a crazy level of pressure to solve the murders before his police department is eliminated! Russ enlists Clare's help during this.
From what I can see, this was a much anticipated book, and overall it was great! the writing style was unique to me. the storyline was great. I was able to easily read and follow this story.
