First things first, that cover is magnificent. It blends a haunting note with gorgeous scenery. It will definitely catch eyes for book and window displays. Secondly, how have I never read Spencer-Fleming before? I've shelved this book series for years without ever reading the back, but I will definitely be spending my weekend speed reading through the backlist from this series. In the first few pages, it is clear that the dialogue is authentic, the story is fast-paced, and the mystery has been set. I love when authors don't leave us guessing too much in the first 50 pages. This mystery definitely reaches in and grabs the reader right off the bat with the passage of time and clear linkages between the crimes. I can't wait to see how this one gets resolved.
