I really like the cover of this book and the title, "Hid From Our Eyes" has lots of implications for a fascinating read and the First Look keeps that in place. It grabbed me with the poem as the prologue. I love it when authors use a draw like this, rather than a lengthy explanation, it lets me know the book is going to speak for itself.
The opening scene of Harry McNeil, Chief of Police, getting out of his cruiser in the gloom had me. I love crime novels and this one opened perfectly. I want to know who this victim is and how she got there. Who left a pretty young girl dead in the rain? Why?
Harry seems likable, in his friendly, no nonsense way.
I also want to know more about the killer, the other victims...the baby with the possible FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome). I want to read this book!
