Overall I found this one a really good read. I liked Bethany's personality and that this was a book showing some plus-sized love in a way that felt authentic and didn't make her weight her entire personality. I really liked Jacob as a character, someone who at heart is soft and creative but has a reputation put on him by other people. I found both characters likable and relatable in many ways, and watching them fall together was really fun and lovely. I also liked that for Bethany it was a story of growing in confidence to be her true self, when she faces a lot of pressure from her family to be a certain way and to like certain things – specifically basketball for her. Many kids face pressure from their parents when it comes to their future and how they spend their time, so I think it's such a relatable thing, and really cool how Jacob was a part of her building that confidence. The conversations between characters seemed very realistic, but also very Gen Z (which I often roll my eyes at, but is again still realistic). Overall this was a fun, cute read and I enjoyed it.
