Diverse Characters With a Whallop of Teen Hormones

Teen emotions are front and center in HER GOOD SIDE at a Los Angeles area high school. First-person narrator Bethany Greene is an attractive Black girl who has a good support system: two college-age sisters as well as two mothers who were both sports stars and now have fairly high profile jobs, so Bethany's athletic connections seem to be a hit with the boys at her high school. However, Bethany lacks self-confidence; the culprit for this lack seems to stem from the lack of interest from Oliver Gutierrez, the sixteen-year-old guy of her dreams, Oliver Gutierrez. He only likes her as a friend. Ouch! Yeah, you guessed it; Oliver even tells Bethany that he has his sights set on hottie Poppie who is newly available because she has dumped her previous boyfriend Jacob Yuen. The teen emotions are sure to be a rollercoaster ride in this YA book. It will be fun to ride along through the pages with this cast of characters!
