I'm so impressed by how many authors have been able to write and publish full novels about the pandemic already. Reading this in 2021 was so incredibly relatable after what we've been dealing with the last couple years. In the future I wonder what young people will think while reading novels set during a past historical event.

Usually I'm not a huge fan of contemporary books, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one! I found myself wanting to read "just one more chapter" and then suddenly it was 3am. The characters were lovable, the romance was heartwarming, and it was all around a good experience.

The only thing keeping it a 4-star for me was the way mental health / mental illness was discussed. I'm not sure why, but it felt really forced to me. Something about the internal dialogue just didn't feel fully fleshed out and I would have loved some improvement in that area.
