I was looking forward to reading a sweet, hopeful, and heartfelt book.
That said, I have read other books about people during COVID lockdown that was hopeful, sweet and lovely. Those books made me smile. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t that. There were many dark moments and I needed some lightness after these last 18 months. I had a hard time getting through with this book. Both teens have to overcome huge obstacles during COVID lockdown which was difficult to read. The relationship between them was at times off. Other times it was sweet and sincere. A good part of the book was that I liked their friends. And the friendships was extremely important for everyone. The ending was just okay but I needed more of something. It felt rushed and incomplete. Overall, this book was too realistic, and too soon after what the world has gone through.
