Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book may be too soon for some readers as we are still very much still in the COVID pandemic. This book takes place during spring break time, at the very beginning of the COVID lockdowns in the United States (California).

Jonah and Maxine meet at a grocery store and Max’s sarcastic and charming wit hooks Jonah instantly. He knows that he has to get to know her, but with COVID this becomes difficult because they cannot actually be close to one another. They start texting and getting to know each other virtually. I can’t imagine starting a relationship at this time. It would be so difficult. Alll you really want is to be close to someone you are beginning to care deeply for and no matter how close they live you cannot do that in order to keep each other safe and healthy. But on the other hand at least you will have someone that makes the hard times more bearable.

Jonah and Maxine also differ in social classes. Which I feel like is harder on Maxine as her and her mom struggle to stay afloat and she works harder than any 17 year old should ever have to. Jonah is rich and doesn’t really doesn’t know anything else. Which isn’t his fault but this makes it hard for Max because she feels like he could never understand how she feels.

This book has heartwarming moments and it has its heart breaks. I was here for the laughs and the crying. It has been a while since a book has gotten me both incredibly happy and seriously sad. The content is difficult but I really enjoyed Hello (From Here). I feel like it shows there is a light at the end of the tunnel of these terrible times we have found ourselves in.
